Otterbein SeniorLife’s newest SeniorLife Community ― Otterbein Granville ― recently underwent a change from its previous name, Kendal at Granville. So, what does this mean for those considering a move to Otterbein Granville?

How is Otterbein Granville Different from Kendal at Granville?
The biggest shift related to the transition is the name change. Kendal at Granville is now Otterbein Granville. Accordingly, the community’s corporate owner is now Otterbein SeniorLife instead of the Kendal Corporation.
Otterbein Granville is still a Continuing Care Retirement Community (aka Life Plan Community) and offers the same levels of service:
- Independent Living
- Assisted Living
- Skilled Nursing
- Rehabilitation/Post-Acute Care
As far as daily life for residents and staff, very little has changed. In fact, most changes are “behind the scenes” and are focused on improving the resident experience. Rest assured, what you love about Kendal is still here at Otterbein Granville.

“When I first realized that Kendal at Granville was seeking a new partner, my concern was that it be non-profit, Ohio-based and have a similar culture as Kendal. The shocker would be the name change.
“However, as I learned more about Otterbein SeniorLife, I also realized that they met all of our requirements and would be a perfect match. The name change no longer was an issue for me! Our residents would essentially see no difference in everyday living and our finances would be strengthened to ensure our future.”
