When Life Enrichment Director Yvonne Miller’s mother required extensive rehabilitation services after a serious car accident, she knew Otterbein St. Marys would provide exceptional care.
“This is a place where people live. They want to get better. So, I did bring her here and she did receive therapy — and they kept her in such high spirits,” said Yvonne.
Yvonne’s mother thrived in the supportive environment and felt encouraged by residents and partners. She was able to return home after her therapy services ended, and Yvonne was grateful that her mother’s experience was a positive one.

A Home for Parents Requiring Different Levels of Care
Bruce McDaniel, chaplain at Otterbein St. Marys, enjoyed his new job and felt compelled to share his enthusiasm with his mom and dad.
“I was telling my parents about this place, and that I really liked the spirit here. I really liked their ethic about how they went about helping enhance seniors’ lives here,” said Bruce.
His father asked about inquiring at Otterbein for him and Bruce’s mother. Knowing his mom needed special care, Bruce trusted that Otterbein could meet both of their needs and allow them to remain close to each other on the same campus

Stacy Klosterman, director of marketing, has had a number of family members receive care at Otterbein St. Marys over the years.
“My mother came here and recovered after having her hip replaced,” said Stacy.

“Seeing all of that come together into real life for them has been a special part of me working here as well,” added Stacy.
