You’ll often feel immersed in a family-like atmosphere at Otterbein SeniorLife communities. Residents form friendships with each other and with the staff, or partners, as they’re frequently referred to here. Everyone looks out for each other, in good times and challenging ones.

Let’s get to know a few of our partners and learn what they love about working at Otterbein Cridersville, a beautiful campus with serene countryside views located in northwest Ohio.

Meet Amanda, Human Resources Assistant

Meet Amanda, Human Resources Assistant

“We have a really good partnership, not only with each other but with our residents. We really want to keep them as happy as possible but also make them feel like they’re well-loved.”

- Amanda Gross, Human Resources Assistant

Amanda Gross, human resources assistant at Otterbein Cridersville, loves the family atmosphere within the community. She was incredibly grateful for this compassionate team when her father-in-law received post-acute care and rehabilitation services at Otterbein.

Amanda also appreciates the resident interactions and treasures the moments she can assist with cell phones or other electronic devices. Amanda recognizes that a resident’s family isn’t by their side in everyday life, so that’s where she and other partners can step in to help.

Meet Jennie, Business Office Manager

Meet Jennie, Business Office Manager

“When we determined she [Jennie’s mother] was unable to go back home, we knew that assisted living here at Otterbein would be the best choice. It is a family.”

- Jennie Whitehead, Business Office Manager

Jennie Whitehead is the business office manager at Otterbein Cridersville. She enjoys helping families with insurance questions and ensuring that all the partners get paid.

Jennie loves the community's commitment to encouraging the residents to be as independent as possible, no matter what level of care they require. She has witnessed this firsthand with a handful of her loved ones receiving care at Otterbein Cridersville.

Jennie’s grandmother lived in long-term care for several years, her father received post-acute rehabilitation care, and her mother currently resides in assisted living. Jennie finds comfort knowing that she won’t have to move her mother to another community if she needs additional care. Instead, her mother will age in place with continuing care at Otterbein.

Meet Lori, Director of Hospitality

Meet Lori, Director of Hospitality

“I love the fact that Otterbein’s staffing is just tremendous. The dedication from the nurses to the aides; the care and the quality that they give the residents just is mind-boggling to see every day.”

- Lori Black, Director of Hospitality

Lori Black, director of hospitality at Otterbein Cridersville, loves building relationships with the residents each day. She is empowered as an Otterbein partner to help make every day joyful for the residents.

For example, even though Lori’s main tasks involve keeping the resident homes, apartments, and common areas clean, she knows she can set those tasks aside to assist a resident. If she finds that a resident is having a hard time, Lori can join them for a walk or help them work on a puzzle — whatever it takes to make their day better.
