Who Is Appropriate for Assisted Living Care at Otterbein Marblehead?
Assisted living at Otterbein Marblehead serves residents with a wide range of needs. Some residents just need a little care, like help with a shower once or twice a week. Other residents need more hands-on assistance throughout the day.
Many assisted living residents here are experiencing some cognitive decline and need supervision and guidance with their activities. Our community is designed to support residents with changing needs.
What Type of Care Is Available for Residents Who Need a Helping Hand Through Assisted Living?
Assisted living residents can receive assistance with personal care and hygiene, like help with showers and bathing. We also provide support with dressing, laundry and light housekeeping, ambulation and transfers, meals, nutritional monitoring, and activities.

- 24-hour call system
- Cable television
- Three meals per day
- All utilities

Assisted living residents can also participate in individual activities like puzzles and reading books from the library. The life enrichment team also plans group outings so residents can enjoy off-campus activities.
Do Assisted Living Residents Have More Than One Dining Room Option at Otterbein Marblehead?
Absolutely! Our assisted living community has its own dining room for those who require assistance during mealtime. Residents who can dine independently can eat in their private suite or dine in the Boulevard Bistro for a more formal dining experience.
What’s Inside an Assisted Living Suite? Are Residents Allowed to Bring Their Own Furniture and Decorative Items?
Each private assisted living suite has a large walk-in closet and a full bath with a walk-in shower. Residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and decorative items to make their apartment feel like home.

What Sets Assisted Living at Otterbein Marblehead Apart From Other Assisted Living Communities?
We’re able to meet most of the needs of assisted living residents as they age and experience some physical or cognitive decline. Some assisted living communities require residents to be fairly independent, which can mean moving to another level of care or a new community if their health declines.
At Otterbein Marblehead, we do our best to allow assisted living residents to age in place so they can have a familiar environment of staff and fellow residents. This can provide peace of mind to both the residents that live here and their loved ones.
What Happens if My Loved One’s Health Declines and They Require More Care Than Assisted Living Provides?
If a resident requires more care than we can provide in our assisted living community, there are a few options to explore. Residents can move to long-term care in one of our small houses on our Otterbein Marblehead campus or even to another Otterbein SeniorLife Community.
If a resident is recovering from an illness or surgery, they can participate in on-campus short-term rehabilitation services like physical, occupational, or speech therapy.
We also work closely with our local hospice organizations, which can supplement the care the resident receives with specialized end-of-life support and care.
What Are Some of the Benefits of Living at Otterbein Marblehead Versus Staying in My Own Home and Paying Someone to Help Me With Daily Tasks?
One of the most significant benefits of an assisted living community like ours is having on-site staff at all times of the day or night and a continuum of care to meet the changing needs of the residents.
You are also surrounded by residents you can socialize with over meals and activities. There are numerous activities to choose from throughout the day, along with access to community amenities and other dining options. Your daily needs are met, so you can choose how to fill your days and live life to the fullest.
